Big data computing and mission-critical tasks will benefit from QNAP’s new “one-device solution for applications, storage, and virtualization.” The TDS-16489U combines both a storage server and an application server into one 3U chassis.
The TDS-16489U “Double Server” has two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors (in four-, six-, and eight-core configurations), up to 1TB DDR4 2,122MHz RDIMM/LRDIMM RAM, and three independent SAS 12Gbps controllers. Four PCIe slots offer plenty of expansion for graphics cards, a 40GbE card, a 12Gbps SAS HBA, or a PCIe SSD NVMe. There’s room for more than 1PB of storage.
QNAP says the Double Server is a cost-efficient option for hosting virtual machines and virtualization storage in one box. Qtier technology and Auto Tiering ensure storage efficiency, and support for IPMI offers intelligent system monitoring, controlling, and hardware logs.
