Xiaomi has launched the Mi Max 2 in India. The phone is priced at INR 16,999 and will be available online and offline simultaneously on July 27. As part of the three year anniversary celebration, the phone will also be available at Mi Home and mi.com on July 20 and 21.
The Mi Max 2 is the successor to last year’s Mi Max and has the same big 6.44-inch display but now in a new full unibody aluminum design. It also runs on the newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset and will be available with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The camera has also been improved and it now has the latest 12 megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor on the back with improved low light and dynamic range performance. Mi Max 2 also includes stereo speakers for improved immersion. Lastly, the Mi Max 2 includes an even bigger 5300mAh battery and now also supports Quick Charge 3.0 for faster charging.
Mi Max 2 runs on MIUI 8 on top of Android 7.1.1 Nougat and will receive the MIUI 9 update later this year.
Mi Max 2 customers will also get up to 100GB of Jio 4G data, which is split over ten recharges of 10GB each of INR 309 and above till May 31, 2018.
