Bodhi Linux 4.2.0 Lightweight Operating System Available For Download

bodhi linux 4.2.0

Short Bytes: The developers of lightweight Linux distro Bodhi Linux have shipped the latest Bodhi Linux 4.2.0, which arrives 4 months after the last stable release. Please note that it isn’t a feature release and the existing users don’t need to reinstall their OS. Powered by Linux kernel 4.10, Bodhi Linux 4.2.0 comes with Swami Control panel installed by default.

If you’re an avid reader of Fossbytes, you might be knowing that we keep publishing different lists of Linux distros to make you aware of different options in the Linux world. Just recently, I wrote about the top Linux distributions for gaming purposes. Prior to that, I told you about the lightweight Linux-based operating systems that aren’t resource hungry.

One such lightweight Linux distro is Bodhi Linux. The latest release of this distro, i.e., Bodhi Linux 4.2.0, was released a couple of days ago. Bodhi Linux 4.2.0 follows the last stable release 4.1.0, which was released four months ago.

As Bodhi Linux 4.2.0 isn’t a feature-rich release, the developers haven’t advised the existing users to reinstall the operating system. This release, which is powered by Linux kernel 4.10, has been released to keep the current ISO image up to date.

This release also comes with Swami Control panel installed by default. Please note that this is the first release which is dropping 32-bit PAE discs. 32-bit machines are still supported but one would need to use Bodhi Linux legacy ISO image.

If the existing users have been running system update, they will already be having the updates that are brought along by Bodhi 4.2.0. Interested
