TRENDnet’s new PoE+ AV switches have a clutter-free front-panel display, with no cables in front, making them easy (and visually appealing) to integrate into an existing AV equipment rack, whether it’s at work or home.
“AV system integration often requires much more power than your average PoE switch can supply, and the typical switch design, with ports in the front, isn’t suitable for most AV equipment racks,” said Evan Davis, senior manager of solutions engineering at TRENDnet, in a press release announcing the product.
The front-facing LEDs on the new TRENDnet switches show PoE power total, total PoE power remaining, and PoE power consumption per port, while rear panel ports help improve cable management and provide easy accessibility to other AV equipment.
The $484.99 entry-level model, TPE-1016L, has 16 fast Ethernet PoE+ ports with a 250W total power budget; there’s also a 16-port Gigabit model, the TPE-3016L, which costs $564.99. For long-distance fiber optic networking, TRENDnet has the 26-port 10/100Mbps model TPE-1026L ($614.99) with 24 PoE Ethernet and two Gigabit SFP shared ports, and the 26-port Gigabit TPE-3026L ($739.99).
