“Mostly everything we do is driven by data when it comes to prioritizing design-level changes,” Salamunovic said.
“We always start with what’s best for our customer experience and, secondarily, how will that decision affect conversions/sales … A lot of things don’t work, the key is to be constantly testing things, looking at the data and making corrections. Try new things, and learn fast”, he added.

The flat-designing, which was once the go-to-design of every designer seems to be falling out of favor in 2018. In econsultancy’s UX trends for 2018, Will Grant of Prodlytic said that he hopes “to see the tide turn again against flat design and a return to (subtle) visual affordances in UI across the board.”
Incorporating video into a website is rising in popularity and it is expected to grow more in 2018. E-commerce though has been reluctant to include videos into their platform as there is a feeling that it takes away the attention.
The designers who feel that the slow scrolling of the website often frustrates the visitors and make them leave the platform. This has made the designers rethink and in 2018, minimal scrolling effect is making its way to website designs.
The call-to-action buttons have been gone completely out of favor and the designers have realized that they a thing of past. It has been a regular feature of the website design over the years but doesn’t seem to excite in 2018.
The trend of a mobile compactable website has been carried on to 2018 also. With mobile turning out to the number one digital platform for billions of users across the world, the importance of mobile compatibility is higher than ever.
