HOLLYOAKS is entering a world of pain tonight when an enormous explosion goes off at the school, caused by the actions of a furious Mac – and threatening the lives of those gathered inside.
The explosion will happen during a school prize giving – and will leave at least eight of the soap’s characters in jeopardy.
The explosive week of episodes kicks off with a tense clash between Jack, Johnno Dean and Frankie.
Jack is on a jealous rampage over Johnno Dean’s shock return as he wonders whether it will rake up feelings Frankie still harbours for her ex.
Jack plans to go with Frankie to the school event but when Johnno Dean appears at the family home without warning, she’s forced to make a tough decision.
Meanwhile the forbidden romance between Neeta and Hunter sees him chase her down at the school and give her a drawing of them together – before they share a passionate kiss.
But before they know it, Mac spots Neeta – and flies into a rage.
He drags her away from Hunter and down to the school boiler room, taking the drawing off her.
In the boiler, Mac unleashes his fury and whacks the boiler pipe – and unknowingly loosens one of the valves that carries gas.
Looking at the drawing does nothing to quell his anger and he decides to set fire to it in front of Neeta – causing the diabolical explosion.
